Shades multiply SKUs
A lipstick in eighteen shades and two finishes is thirty six SKUs, each with its own photos and stock. Buyers need to find their shade fast.
Industries · Beauty and personal care
Beauty and personal care brands sell to people who come back when a bottle runs out. Shades and sizes multiply the catalogue, batches and expiry dates matter, and returns of opened products need a firm, fair policy. ShopenUp covers the store and orders on day one, and we build batch tracking, reminders and loyalty when you need them.
What gets in the way
A lipstick in eighteen shades and two finishes is thirty six SKUs, each with its own photos and stock. Buyers need to find their shade fast.
You need to know which batch went to which order, and to stop selling stock that is close to expiry.
Hygiene rules mean most opened products cannot be resold. The policy must be clear before purchase and applied the same way every time.
A face oil lasts about six weeks. Without a reminder or a reason to come back, the buyer reorders from whoever shows up first.
Checkout
The buyer pays through the gateway you choose, or picks COD. The admin records the payment against the order as it happens.
What the admin records
Sample checkout. Payments run through the gateway you choose, which handles card data under its own PCI DSS obligations. Cash on delivery and bank transfer work as manual payment methods on day one.
How ShopenUp fits
Shade, finish and size as attributes, each with its own SKU, photos and stock. Categories and tags for skin type or concern.
Batch and expiry tracking by order is a custom module, with alerts before stock gets close to its date.
Partial refunds and returns recorded against the order. A returns workflow that checks the reason against your policy can be built.
Customer profiles and order history on day one. Reorder reminders, loyalty points and email or SMS campaigns are built or connected for you.

Getting started
An example
A small brand makes face oils, soaps and lip balms with traditional ingredients. On ShopenUp each product shows its full ingredient list, net quantity and the brand's contact details in the description, and sizes are variants. The brand added batch tracking as a custom module, so a query about a particular jar can be traced to its batch in a minute. A reminder five weeks after each face oil order goes out through the brand's email provider.
Illustrative example with sample data.

Questions
Not out of the box. Batch and expiry tracking is a custom module, built on 2good.dev terms, that ties each order to the batch it was packed from.
Packaged goods carry declarations under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, and cosmetics have their own labelling rules. Confirm the list with your adviser; the product page will show whatever you add.
That is your policy decision, and it should be shown clearly before purchase. ShopenUp records returns and refunds against the order; a workflow that applies your rules automatically can be built.
Loyalty and referral programmes are built for you. Customer profiles and order history, which they depend on, work on day one.

A good product page answers the questions a buyer would ask in a shop: what is it, will it fit, what is it made of, when will it arrive, and what if I do not like it. One structure, applied to every product, answers them consistently.
