Take an established shop online without rebuilding it

A Surat saree wholesaler may have 3,000 designs, most in four to six colours, and years of trade with a strong reputation. A Pune organic grocery may know every regular customer by name. Moving online means getting that catalogue and those customers into a store that someone else keeps running, so you can go on running the shop.

What gets in the way

Problems we hear most

A large catalogue to load

Thousands of items with variants, photos and prices have to go in once and stay correct. Doing it product by product would take months.

No in-house tech team

You know your trade, and servers and updates are a separate job. Running your own store software would mean hiring for a job that is not your business.

Shipping you have not done before

Counter sales never needed labels, couriers or tracking numbers. Online, each order has to be packed, labelled and followed until it reaches the customer.

Rules that apply online

Selling online in India brings GST on invoices, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and, for packaged goods, labelling under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules. Product pages need the right details.

How ShopenUp fits

Where the store helps, and where we build

Catalogue with categories and tags

Products, variants, categories and tags give a large range a clear structure, and stock is tracked as orders come in. Listings are unlimited on the platform; plan limits apply.

Managed for you

On the managed plans, the Code Colonies team looks after hosting, updates and support. You use the admin; we keep it running.

Labels and courier aggregators

Set up basic shipping methods, generate shipping labels and connect carriers through third party shipping services such as courier aggregators.

Order updates for customers

Customers get notifications as their order moves along, and each one has a profile with their order history for when they call the shop.

One stock count

An order anywhere takes the unit off everywhere.

Your storefront, the link in your Instagram bio, orders taken on WhatsApp and dealer orders all draw on the same count.

When it fits

ShopenUp works well for a retailer with a real catalogue and existing customers who wants a managed store and expects to need some custom work later, such as weekly subscriptions for a grocery. If you plan to sell a small range with standard checkout and no special workflows, a basic store builder such as Shopify will get you online faster for less.

Questions

From retailers moving online

Can you load our existing catalogue?

Yes, as part of setting up your store. Bulk import from your spreadsheet or billing software depends on how clean the data is, so we look at a sample first and tell you what needs fixing before we start.

Do we still need a CA or lawyer?

Yes. ShopenUp has fields for prices, product details and invoices, but whether your GST treatment, product labels and policies meet the rules for your goods is for your CA or lawyer to confirm.

Can customers order weekly, like a standing grocery order?

Subscriptions and recurring billing do not work on day one. We build them for you as a custom module, quoted in hours before the work starts.
